this and that

The exhibitions are finished.  I did very well at Murray Hall as part of the Festival des Arts Geogeville/Fitch Bay but very poorly in the Circuit des Arts. I had very few visitors or sales.  Word is that it was a combination of bad timing: concurrent with Tour des Arts, bad economy, Quebecquers heading down to Main in droves (I know because i live in a border town and have seen the line ups, which make it hell for me to go across to my postal box.) Such is life.

I attribute our success in Georgeville to the Herculean efforts of our new president, Françoise Cloutier. The total statistics are not yet in but we had record braking number of visitors & good sales.  Thank you Fraçoise.

My lack of performance at the Circuit was particularly disappointing because I had built a new studio, with lots of nice windows to display the glass. As it looks right now I will not be participating in the Circuit next year.

The studio was photo finished 2 days before the Circuit opened. It still needs finishing touches: gyprock has to be taped & painted as does the floor. So I can’t really move my stuff in until that is done.  But have started work on an experimental idea I have had for about 15 years. And it feels wonderful. great space, great light, should improve my work considerably.

Since my work is mostly carried out in isolation with little feedback, it is wonderful to hear people's responses. Again I have met some very nice & interesting people during the show. A real pleasure. Thank you for your support.
